Twitter adds new features to mobile and web versions

Twitter – Adds share via Email feature and updates Discover for iOS and Android
Twitter – the popular micro blogging site has added some new features to both its mobile and web version. The micro-blogging site has introduced its new Discover feature for iPhone and Android phone users and has added new feature that will enable users to share tweets with others via email for the web version.
Twitter Discover update

New Discovery Feature
Yesterday, in an official post on its Engineering Blog, the company has introduced its new Discover feature for iPhone and Android phone users.
Introducing its changelog, Daniel Loreto, engineering manager, Search and Relevance at Twitter shared that the company has set up the backend from ground up for this new release; ditto for the user interface to enhance the use of Twitter cards.
With Twitter cards, users will now be able to see Tweets in Discover with links to news and photos. This format is interactive and replaces the earlier story previews. “And supporting Twitter cards on the backend means we can more directly improve the user experience in our native apps, too,” elaborates the post.
The company also revealed that content from cards partners will display as previews in the stream. Users will get headlines and publication names for story summaries and photo previews instead of shortened URLs.
Twitter Share Via Email Feature

The micro-blogging site will roll out a new ‘more’ option on Twitter.com from where they will be able to mail the tweets to others irrespective of whether the recipients are on Twitter or not. Users will also be able to add their own message along with a link to the tweet.
This feature is not exactly new as the company already offers the option to share tweets via email on its official mobile apps. However, the mobile app version sends the email from the user’s own email address configured on the phone, which we don’t think would be the case when it comes to sharing tweets via email on Twitter.com.
