Samsung to announce Dual SIM 5.8 inch Android smartphone

Based on the popular Samsung Galaxy Player, which never made its way to the Indian markets, the Korean giant is confirmed to announce a smartphone version based on the popular Galaxy Player. Confirmed by Sammobile, the new 5.8 inch smartphone will be called Samsung Fonblet 5.8 (GT-I9152).

Samsung Galaxy Fonblet 5.8 Specs

The model number indicates that this device will have DUAL-SIM support and will also feature a 5.8″ Display, same as the one on the Galaxy Player 5.8. The Galaxy Fonblet 5.8 will come in Pure White colour. For Samsung white is the new black.

Of all the other features discussed, the new Dual SIM Android smartphone may share its features with its mentor ala Galaxy Player. As may be known, the Galaxy Player is available only for the Korean markets, so we don’t know as to whether the Android smartphone based on the player will make its debut for India.

Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8

The Galaxy Player made its official debut at the IFA 2012 event. The company then marketed the device more for the educational and content consumption purposes. Galaxy Player 5.8 inch screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio 5.8-type (147mm) large screen in the front of the product, high-quality stereo speakers, TV quality technology optimized for mobile devices mDNIe (Mobile Digital Natural Engine), Samsung’s own sound field technology Sound Alive’ mounted to provide the best environment for the use of various multimedia content, including video lectures.

The Galaxy Player sported as the name suggests a 5.8 inch screen but the pixel resolution support dropped down to a mere 960 x 540 pixels which we hope the company will improve in the new Fonblet. Similarly we think the Korean giant will also upgrade the stock Android version in the smartphone and the new Samsung Galaxy Fonblet may feature the latest Android 4.1 or Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version.
