Samsung Series 7 laptops announced
After teasing the Samsung Series 7 Chronos notebook yesterday, Samsung today has gone ahead and announced a couple of notebooks under the Series 7 branding, including the Series 7 Chronos.
The Series 7 Chronos is a powerhouse of a machine. It has an Intel core i7 CPU, 1TB of HD space, the latest AMD Radeon HD 8870 GPU with 2GB of memory and up to 16GB of RAM. It also has a 15.6-inch display with a 1080p resolution, and an optional 10-point multi-touch display. Samsung claims that it can last 11 hours on a single charge, which makes it one hell of a roadrunner.
The new Samsung Series 7 Chronos provides enhanced processing power for professional users and a new software solution RAMaccelerator that provides up to a 150 percent increase in speed for browsing and running apps by taking advantage of the existing memory.
The other machine launched by Samsung is the Series 7 Ultra, which has a 13.3-inch 1080p panel with an optional touch screen. Additionally, it will come in Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, unnamed discrete AMD graphics with 1GB of memory, up to 16GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD. Samsung claims this machine can last 8 hours on a single charge, which again is quite impressive.
