Revised models of MacBook Pro and Air coming in June

Apple MacBook Pro 13 inch with Retina display has just made its foray into the Indian markets and now come the reports which state that the Cupertino based company has already started working on a revised model of the Apple Macbook Pro. And the Macbook Pro isn’t the only laptop getting updated the Macbook Air will also get a revision.

According to DigiTimes, the Cupertino-based company has notified Taiwan-based suppliers that the MacBook Pro and Air series will be seeing revisions in June 2013.

DigiTime’s sources have said that the next MacBook Air will feature a new processor platform, but the design will not see major changes. This may lead to Ultrabook vendors growing concerned, as thanks to the revision, Apple will likely reduce the price of the MacBook Air before the launch of the next model, which could take away demand for Ultrabooks.

The revisions for the MacBook Air and Pro may indicate that Apple could move to Intel’s upcoming Haswell processors which for now have been delayed until June 2013.

Macbook Pro 13 Specs

The new 13.3-inch Apple Macbook Pro with Retina Display has a lower resolution than the 15-inch model at 2560×1600 pixels. The base model features a dual-core 2.5GHz Intel i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of flash storage and a rated battery life of up to 7 hours.

The higher-end model offers more storage of 256 GB and Apple even offers build to order models that will feature faster Intel i7 processors and up to 768 GB of flash storage.

Unlike the 15-inch model, Apple does not offer a dedicated GPU, so that’s something potential gamers and multimedia junkies will need to keep in mind.

As far as the I/O ports are concerned like the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, the Apple Macbook Pro 13 has two thunderbolt ports, three USB 3.0 ports, a MagSafe connector, a HDMI connector, a SD card reader and an audio jack. At 0.75-inches it is thinner than even 1-inch and of course this has happened because Apple has eliminated the optical drive from the product.

However, if you have liked the tech specs of the new Macbook Pro there are great chances that you wont like the pricing of the same. The Apple Macbook Pro 13 inch with Retina display starts from $1699 which when translated into Indian currency comes to Rs. 92,000/- approx. The 13 inch Macbook Pro with Retina Display is available in India and starts at Rs. 114,900/- and goes all the way up to Rs. 134,900.
