CES 2013 – Lenovo K900 announced, runs Intel Dual Core processor

Lenovo has just announced the K900, which will be the first smartphone running on Intel’s forthcoming Atom Z2580 processor for smartphones, codenamed Clover Trail+. The K900 will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display in a sleek 6.9 mm wide stainless steel and polycarbonate unibody design.

Intel’s Clover Trail+ features a dual-core processor and dual-core graphics processor, which Intel claims would have twice the performance of the current generation Atom Z2460 processor. The Lenovo K900, meanwhile, will also feature a 13-megapixel camera with f1.8, making it one of the widest angle lens on a smartphone, along with a Sony Exmor backside illuminated sensor that Lenovo claims gives it excellent low-light imaging capabilities. The front-camera of unknown resolution has an 88 degree viewing angle, again claimed to be the widest on any smartphone.

With the Lenovo K900, our team has broken down the key functions of the smartphone and redesigned them from the ground up,” said Liu Jun, president, Mobile Internet Digital Home, and senior vice president, Lenovo. “Rather than focus on specifications that look good on a datasheet, we’ve zeroed in on what consumers want and proved that for smartphone users, top performance doesn’t require a thick profile. The K900 is a game-changer that looks as good as it performs.
