Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 are finaly going to enter the Indian mobile arena, come this January 9th on Wednesday. Nokia has sent out invites for a special launch of the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 for the Indian markets to be held on  Wednesday, January 9. The special launch event for the Windows Phone 8 based smartphones will be held at ITC Grand Maratha in Mumbai.

The launch event further confirms our release date for Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 which would be around on January 13, 2013. This means that come Sunday you will be able to get your hands on the Nokia Lumia 920. There have also been reports of a similar launch event which will be held on January 10 in New Delhi.

Nokia Lumia 920 is a smartphone developed by Nokia that runs the Windows Phone 8 operating system. It was announced on September 5, 2012, and has already been one of the top selling handsets for the U.S. and European markets. The Lumia 920 is also the Finnish giant’s current flagship smartphone and has already been labelled as the best Windows Phone 8 smartphone. In India, the Finnish giant released an advertise of the Lumia 920 ahead of the official launch.

The Nokia Lumia 820 has a 4.3″ AMOLED display of WVGA resolution (no HD, sorry), which features the ClearBlack technology. It does have the same super sensitive touch like the 920, which allows it to work with gloves, but misses on the PureMotion HD+ fun. Though there are no indications of the actual pricing of the Nokia flagship handset but early rumors and sources are indicating that the Lumia 820 will be priced at Rs. 25000 in India.
